Well, if I were you, I just bought a new fuel tank, but I like your desire to fix it. Never give up is good. So I think I can help you. You see, I know one great site with calculators for such things, there is even a calculator for tank volume. Here is a link to their website concalc.org. Try it, I'm sure it can help you with the calculations when you start repairing the tank.
