A draw and write has many purposes. A teacher looks at what the children have done to see what they know, what they think is factfind out what the children know or think they know. Once we know where the children are, the teacher can plan the next steps: clear up any misconceptions introduce and extend next steps in learning Draw and Write can be used to :- assess prior knowledge, inform next steps or evaluate what the pupils have learned. Look here for examples of what can be shown through a draw and write. An excellent AfL opportunity. www.ise5-14.org.uk/members/TSEC/Resources/DU_DW.htm#To_carry_out_a_Draw_and_Write_technique
