The puppet is a powerful tool. It takes away any personal feelings and they become the feelings and ideas of the puppet.
It is easy to share ideas and worries through a puppet. It is easy to offer a puppet advice and empathise with its problem, even if the problem is one our pupils face.
A story about a bullied puppet can lead to a range of supportive ideas and solutions being provided by children.
Sensitive issues can be covered using puppets because it makes things impersonal. No one is answering questions about themselves but on behalf of the puppet.

Used a puppet this week to teach 'who do we ask if we need help with being healthy?' Puppet explained she thought was being healthy hut wasn't sure how to brush her teeth properly, how she should wash, who to ask if her eyes felt sore and whether she was doing enough exercise. Captivated the kids and they are going make her posters before she comes back to teach her!
