So, after a meeting with a senior DFE representative here is the current status.
PSHE is not statutory. It wont be other than the initial page at the beginning of the new curriculum stating schools SHOULD have a pshe programme.
There will be no new POS in the new curriculum - the old ones still stand but wont be added.
The pshe association will soon be publishing an up to date pos for schools to use.
Nothing will change on the SRE part of the new science curriculum and schools can decide whether to teach it.
They do need an SRE policy though - even if it says 'we dont teach sre'.
